Police search pond after Dunedin teen's death

Police are searching a Dunedin pond and quarry as part of the inquiry into the death of Amber-Rose Rush. 

They would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the Blackhead Quarry or beach area between 11:30pm on Friday, February 2 and 12:30am on Saturday February 3.

Amber-Rose, 16, was found dead at a house on Clermiston Ave on Saturday morning. 

A 30-year-old doctor appeared in the Dunedin District Court on Monday afternoon charged with her murder.

Police say the man who was known to her.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Hanna said on Tuesday police had been in the Blackhead Rd area conducting enquiries and searching a pond.

Police would also like to speak to the occupants of a black Toyota Camry that was in the carpark near the pond.
