Four teenagers, one as young as 14, have been arrested in relation to a death in the Hawke's Bay, police say.

The youths, aged between 14 and 16, have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, in relation to the death of Kelly Donner in Flaxmere on 4 March.

Police are seeking a fifth youth in relation to the matter.

Mr Donner, 40, was found severely injured outside the Flax Bar and Eatery, at about 10:30pm on 4 March.

He was unresponsive when emergency services arrived and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Detective Senior Sergeant Marty James says further charges are likely to be laid as the investigation progresses.

"Any threats or intimidating behaviour towards witnesses will not be tolerated and we will ensure that such complaints are investigated."

Members of the public with any information about the incident are urged to contact police.
