Invercargill man charged with attempted murder

A 27-year-old Invercargill man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery after attacking another man. 

The man allegedly attacked a 23-year-old at the corner of Ythan and Janet Streets in Appleby, Invercargill on February 16.

He is due to appear in the Invercargill District Court on Thursday.

The victim has been released from hospital and is recovering at home.

A 16-year-old man is also facing a charge of attempted murder and other charges relating to the incident. 

Police believe there were others involved in the incident.
