A man has been shot in the leg after a firearms incident in south Auckland that put a school in the area in lockdown.
The man, in his 50s, was shot in the leg at 12:40pm at a house on Hogan Street, Pukekohe.
He has been transported to hospital and his injuries are not life threatening, police say.
A second male is custody and assisting police with enquiries.
Parata School was in lockdown as a precaution following the incident, but this has since been lifted.
There is no threat to the public, police say.
Police believe the offender is known to the victim.
