A would-be passenger with a knife made her way into an Auckland Airport terminal.
As she went through international screening, the X-ray machine picked up that she had a knife on her person.
She nevertheless continued through into the terminal.
No passengers were processed while Aviation Security searched for the woman, causing long queues.
Flights have also been delayed due to the incident.
The woman has since been found with the oversized knife still in her bag.
Screening has resumed as normal.
