Prince Jerry? William keeps Kiwis guessing on baby's name

Prince William has joked about the naming of his third child, saying he wants a strong name for the fifth in line to the throne.

The Duke of Cambridge has attended ANZAC services in London, where he met out own Sir Jerry Mataparae.

He hinted at Jerry being a nice strong name, but quickly admitted nothing had been decided yet.

The Dean of Westminster Abbey said, "Jerry would like it to be Jerry."

Australian High Commissioner Alexander Downer asked William if he'd considered the name Alexander.

"Well, it's funny you should say that. It's a good name," William replied, reportedly prompting bookies to slash the odds on Alexander.

Prince George already counts Alexander among his middle names.

Arthur and Albert lead the bookies' choices. Kensington Palace said in a statement the name would be revealed "in due course".

Mother and baby are doing "very well", said William.
