Police are searching for three men who robbed a Christchurch dairy on Thursday afternoon, striking the shop worker with a weapon in the process.

The trio stole cigarettes and cash from the shop, on the corner of Riccarton Rd and Wainui St, just after 4:30pm.

It is believed they then fled the scene in a small blue hatchback car.

Police have released CCTV footage of the scene showing on of the men wearing a sweatshirt with "Thrasher" on the front, and another wearing a grey sweatshirt with a large letter P on the front and white arm cuffs.
