A third man has been arrested in relation to a Mangere homicide investigation.

Two men have already been charged over the alleged shooting murder of Epalahame Tu'uheava in south Auckland last week.

Counties Manukau police on Friday night said a 25-year-old man from Mangere has been charged with Mr Tu'uheava's murder, and the attempted murder of his wife Mele Tu'uheava.

He will appear in the Manukau District Court on May 12.

"Even after this third arrest for the murder and attempted murder, our investigation team will continue to identify and prosecute anyone else who played a part in this," said Det Insp Tofilau Faa Vaaelua.

Mr Tu'uheava, 28, was found dead on Greenwood Rd in Mangere last week. Police say he was shot at least once in the head.
