Delays and changes will continue for Auckland train services today, following a derailment of a passenger train on Wednesday.

Eastern and Southern line services are operating to and from Britomart on a 20-minute frequency.

Western line services will operate from Newmarket on a 20-minute frequency, and Onehunga line services are running as a shuttle bus between Onehunga and Penrose.

Limited shuttle bus services are also running between Britomart and Newmarket Station.

Auckland Transport is providing updates on its Twitter account.

No one was hurt in the derailment. The Transport Accident Investigation Commission is investigating.

Public Transport Users Association coordinator Jon Reeves says we need to find out what happened.

"Britomart is a key component of the Auckland rail network. When something does happen there, it does have dire consequences."

The fog that added to Auckland commuters' problems on Thursday was absent Friday morning.
