A person drowned and a second person was injured in a Northland fishing accident on Sunday morning.
Police were called to Bream Bay near Ruakaka just after 7am after a fisherman got into trouble retrieving his nets. He died at the scene.
The injured person was taken to Whangarei Hospital with moderate injuries.
