Firefighters are battling a large fire onboard a boat in the Bay of Islands.
Emergency services rushed to the blaze after it sent smoke billowing into the sky off the coast of Moturua Island. The blaze was "well-involved' when crews arrived at 1pm, and they are still working to extinguish the flames.
Video of the fire supplied to Newshub shows dark black smoke billowing out from the boat.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told Newshub everyone got off the burning boat safely.
They are working with Maritime NZ to decide where the boat will be moved when the fire is out.
