A central Christchurch cafe has used a near-naked drawing of Earthquake Minister Gerry Brownlee as part of its new menu design.

The cut-out allows customers to style Mr Brownlee in several outfits, including a pilot's uniform, in reference to his airport security breach last year.

C1 Espresso owner Sam Crofskey told the New Zealand Herald the menu, which was designed by Emilia Gribbin, was "a bit of fun".

"As a community we've all been through the earthquakes together and Gerry is the divisive figure in charge of the rebuild," he says. "It's not a job that I would want to have, but this is our satirical take on him."

The Herald says Mr Brownlee also featured on C1's old menu cover, which when opened revealed a "five-eyed monster".
