Far North iwi leader Sonny Tau was back in the Deep South today for a hui with Ngai Tahu.
Last time he was there he was being questioned about dead native wood pigeons he was carrying.
Today he was there with supporters, on the Takutai o Te Titi Marae to meet with Ngai Tahu, the iwi who represent the region where the birds came from.
There were several hours of discussions about the incident, which Mr Tau has already said was a mistake he deeply regrets.
The group tried to block media from seeing Mr Tau, and no one would comment about the talks.
