The Greens are accusing Corrections Minister Sam Lotu-Iiga of being at sea with what is going on with private prison operator Serco.

MP David Clendon has revealed a long list of contract breaches by the company, but instead of being fined by the Government, the charges were withdrawn.

One of the breaches included razor blades being found in jail cells, and Mr Clendon says the minister didn't even know about it.

"It is difficult to imagine under what circumstances the minister cannot know that," he says. "Is the man asleep at the wheel? Or is there a deliberate strategy not to tell him what is happening in the prison?

"There is no question of the facts of the incident. It is simply that the minister seems not to know what is happening in his own portfolio."

The fine cancellations total more than $250,000 and Mr Clendon says it is just more evidence Serco should go.
