Prime Minister John Key says he hopes the Fox Glacier helicopter crash won't have an impact on tourism.
"I hope not," he told reporters when he was questioned at his post-cabinet press conference today.
"For the most part, I think people will probably say 'look, there are helicopter accidents that happen around the world, New Zealand takes these issues seriously' and hopefully it won't put people off."
Mr Key says that for the most part New Zealand has "a pretty good record" when it comes to aviation.
"There will be a full investigation and then we will see whether there are any learnings from that."
