Iran's foreign minister is due to meet Prime Minister John Key and give a speech in Wellington.
Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Foreign Minister Murray McCully on Sunday.
On Monday he meets Mr Key and speaks to an event organised by the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs at the Banquet Hall in Parliament Buildings.
Dr Zarif led the Iranian negotiation that led to the landmark Iran nuclear deal last year and subsequent lifting of United Nations sanctions, which New Zealand formalised last month.
Iran was New Zealand's fifth largest export market before UN sanctions were imposed in 2006.
Dr Zarif is visiting New Zealand as part of an 11-day diplomatic mission to six countries in south-east Asia and the Pacific.
