Female politicians to attend Apia forum
Women politicians from around the Pacific are meeting in Samoa.
Labour MPs Louisa Wall and Poto Williams and National's Joanne Hayes will join fellow parliamentarians from Pacific and Australian parliaments in Apia for the Pacific Women's Parliamentary Partnerships Forum from today.
The forum will address gender equality and "creating gender sensitive parliaments" and it's a networking opportunity for those attending.
They will also discuss how women members of parliaments can support women's economic empowerment with strategic policies and legislation.
Issues to be discussed include removing barriers to women's employment, women's access to finance, and targeted support to women entrepreneurs.
