The Auckland Unitary Plan is another step closer to reality today, after years of public hearings and submissions.
An independent panel of experts will hand over a 1000-page document on a USB stick, containing recommendations for changes to 2013's proposed plan.
But if you're keen to find out whether your suburb could be rezoned, don't go rushing to the council website quite yet. Councillors now have five days to consider the report behind closed doors, before it's made public next Wednesday.
The panel held 249 days of hearings and considered about 13,500 submissions from Aucklanders before making its recommendations.
Auckland Council's decision is expected to be announced on August 19.
