National's Waikato MP Lindsay Tisch won't be standing in next year's general election.
The former party president and campaign manager entered Parliament in 1999.
While National was in opposition, Mr Tisch served as a party whip and spokesman on small business, internal affairs, racing and tourism.
When National came into Government in 2008, he was appointed as a presiding officer of Parliament.
"I feel very privileged to have served and represented the constituents of the Waikato and to promote the region as a great place to live, work, and raise a family," Mr Tisch said.
"It has given me great satisfaction and a sense of achievement."
