Prime Minister Bill English has hinted there could be a second family package of tax breaks and benefit increases if National wins the election.
He told National's annual conference on Saturday a post-election election priority would be raising take home pay and reducing taxes.
"The Budget's Family Incomes Package was an excellent step forward," he said.
"Wouldn't it be great if we could do it again? Well, we can - if we are able to keep lifting growth and carefully manage public finances we will be able to reduce taxes and lift incomes."
Questioned by media after his speech, Mr English wouldn't put a time on it.
He said the Government first had to win the election and implement the first package, due to come into effect on April 1 next year.
"We haven't considered exactly how a future effort would look. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves."
