Hunt on for Todd Barclay's replacement
Nominations are opening to be National's new candidate for the Clutha-Southland electorate in the wake of the Todd Barclay saga.
Nominations for the seat open at midday on Monday and close at midday on July 18, says National's southern region chair Rachel Bird.
The seat was held by former Prime Minister Bill English for 18 years before Mr Barclay took over and it is a safe one.
"Clutha-Southland is one of the largest general electorates in the country, so we are looking for people who are energetic, understand local aspirations, and committed to working hard to keep a National government that is delivering for our area," Ms Bird says.
