Prime Minister-designate Jacinda Ardern will soon hold her first meeting with a foreign leader - Ireland's President, Michael D Higgins.
President Higgins arrived on Tuesday and was welcomed at Government House by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy.

He attended a state dinner at Government House and on Wednesday morning will lay a wreath at the Pukeahu War Memorial.
Ms Ardern will welcome President Higgins at Parliament before they hold talks, and then she will announce ministerial portfolios for her new Government, which will be sworn in on Thursday.
President Higgins and his wife, Sabina, have a series of engagements in the capital on Wednesday.
They head to Christchurch on Thursday, Auckland on Friday, Waitangi on Saturday and back to Auckland on Sunday before leaving.
