National MP Mark Mitchell is making an announcement about the National party leadership race on Monday afternoon at Orewa Surf Club.
Mr Mitchell is the party's spokesperson for defence and is the deputy chair of the foreign affairs, defence and trade committee.
He held Ministerial portfolios in the previous National government including statistics, land information, and defence.
