Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Clarke Gayford to meet the Queen

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford are set to meet the Queen.

Ms Ardern will attend the week-long Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in London and Windsor this April.

Leaders of all 52 member countries of the Commonwealth are expected to attend the biennial meeting.

The Queen will host new heads of government at a lunch, and there will also be a dinner including their partners at Buckingham Palace.

Ms Ardern said "there's every possibility" that she would get the opportunity to speak with the Queen, but said she didn't want to get ahead of herself.

The meeting takes place close to the due date of the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William's third child, meaning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may attend in their place.
