Drugs cartels prey on 'hopeless romantics'

An increasing number of so-called internet romantics are falling prey to global drug cartels and finding themselves facing the death penalty after being caught up in the scams.

A new international organisation called MULE has been set up to track down and expose these global scams.

Lawyer Craig Tuck is involved in three death penalty defence cases in Indonesia and China and is part of this group – he joined Paul Henry this morning to discuss how there are now "reports across the planet of drug trafficking".

"They are involving vulnerable people ending up on the receiving end of some harsh penalties."
