Lawson quintuplets turn 50

The odds of healthy quintuplets are one in 47 million.

Samuel, Selina, Shirlene, Lisa and Deborah's birth made headlines around the world, and today they are celebrating their 50th birthday.

The 'Lawson quins' were a national sensation, capturing the hearts of New Zealanders.

However after the whirlwind of bottles and nappies, the quintuplets came up against tragedy and misfortune, including the death of their mother when they were just 16.

Author Paul Little has just completed their biography Stolen Lives: The Untold Stories of the Lawson Quins – he joined Paul Henry this morning to discuss the book.
