Travelling can be a dangerous business with pick pockets waiting at every corner, looking out for confused people with huge cameras, sensible walking shoes, and bum bags.

Food and travel writer Annabelle White told Paul "the most important thing" is to blend in and look like a local.

"One really good tip is to go to a local supermarket and buy some water, bread or whatever, and then get the supermarket bag," she says. "Put some of your valuables in that because people are never going to mug you or rob you if they think you're a dear old lady who has been shopping."

She also advises not to "look American" as they are often targeted "for a variety of reasons".
