Solid Energy is expected to make an announcement about its future later today.
The state-owned mining company has been told it won't get any more Government money, and with the coal price at rock bottom, the future is looking dire.
More than 700 employees and contractors work for the company, which is holding meetings with its workers around the country this morning.
