At 4pm today, The Dillinger Escape Plan were soundchecking in Auckland for tonight's show.

Despite just flying 30 hours from their weekend show in Belgium, there were no signs of slowing down.

"We were ready to play when the plane landed," says lead singer Greg Puciato. "If you woke me up on three hours sleep and said 'here, play a show', I would be like 'yep let's go'."

Their shifting rhythms make it a right nightmare for people who like to dance, but for people who don't, such as Newsworthy's David Farrier, it's an absolute dream come true.
