For a long time there have been calls to raise our maximum speed limit, and for a long time nothing has been done.
But when you're an organisation with 1.5 million members saying it's time for change, that's a fair bit of influence.
The AA has done a big survey of its members and they have overwhelmingly said we need to take a look at the country's speed limits, making them both higher and lower.
Looking around the world, the UK has a maximum limit of 113 km/h, the USA is up to 129 km/h in some states, in France it's 130km/h and in Germany there is no limit on the Autobahn – only a recommendation of 130 km/h.
