Ahead of the Vodafone NZ Music Awards, reporter Aziz Al-Sa’afin went to Vector Arena to speak with Broods.

The duo from Nelson are Georgia Nott on lead vocals, with older brother and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Nott on production and backing vocals.

Caleb and Georgia Nott have performed together since childhood.

They won a talent competition, "Richmond's Got Talent", as teenagers at Richmond Mall in 2010. When competing at Smokefree Rock Quest they met producer Joel Little in 2011 and both dropped out of university to pursue Broods in 2013.

Broods released their debut album, Evergreen, last year which debuted at No. 1 on the New Zealand album chart.

The pair have just returned from a tour in Europe.

Georgia says it’s always a pleasure to return home.

“We’re so proud to come from such an awesome country. It’s such an awesome feeling to know that everybody’s got your back.”
