This week’s new single:

Coldplay – Adventure of a Lifetime

Coldplay have returned with a new single from their forthcoming album.

You listen, you'll hear that it's a more upbeat energetic sound in contrast to the bands last album Ghost Stories - it seems Chris Martin is in a positive happy headspace now after his very public split from Gwyneth Paltrow last year.

Coldplays new album A Head Full Of Dreams is due to be released on December 4.

Album of the week:

Marlon Williams - self titled album

Marlon Williams hails from Lyttelton in the South Island and is a local artist you want to know about. He is nominated for five Vodafone NZ Music Awards and is doing very exciting things in Australia, Europe and soon the USA.

I would describe his sound as country / folk – however in more of a Johnny Cash style - stunning, beautiful and spine tingling. We first heard his voice when he performed in the band The Unfaithful Ways - he then toured and released various albums with Delaney Davidson - but released his debut solo album earlier this year which has had huge critical acclaim.

He has just finished a sold out NZ Church tour alongside Barry Saunders from the Warratahs, Delaney Davidson and Tami Nielson.

I fully recommend seeing him perform live - but until then , you must invest in his album.
