Corporations creeping into our schools

Advertising, marketing, billboards & signage; it's around us all the time – on the radio, TV, online and on Facebook.

What about in our schools? Should they be corporate-free zones?

Parents too may struggle with today's hard sell, from bars of Cadbury chocolate or buying Scholastic books and toys.

Fonterra offers free milk and last month we revealed one of the more direct forms of in-school marketing – Sanitarium vending machines promoting UP&GO.

So what is the harm and is it too late to question the corporate creep into our schools?
