Seven people died following the crash of an Alpine Adventures tourist flight at Fox Glacier on Saturday.
A recovery is now underway to retrieve the bodies and an investigation has been launched into why the crash occurred.
Paul Henry spoke to West Coast police area commander John Canning about the crash.
