Goff promises to cut costs for Auckland's ratepayers
Former Labour leader Phil Goff has confirmed he will run for Auckland Mayor in the 2016 election.
In an announcement yesterday he said he will be standing as an independent candidate and that he is committed to creating a "better Auckland".
He says if elected next October, he would immediately resign as MP for Mt Roskill.
He spoke to Paul Henry about the move.
