Christchurch might still be recovering from the earthquakes, but its music scene is fully functioning.
The Live in the Park music festival proved that last weekend, featuring faultless live performances from the likes of Ladi6, Kora, Sunshine Sound System, Ahoribuzz and Shapeshifter.
These artists prove that you don't need theatrics and a big stage to keep the crowd energised - stage presence and natural talent is all it takes. One festival-goer was overheard saying that Kora's five-piece band delivered some of the best live music they had ever heard.
Both Ladi6 and Shapeshifter will be playing at the Northern Bass New Year's Eve festival.
Kora will be joining them for Homegrown 2016 too.
If you have the chance this summer, head to any one of these artists' gigs. You'll be in for a treat if you do.
