'Charge should have been murder' - Jacinda Adern

They were charged with murder, a charge that was plea bargained down to manslaughter.

Yesterday they were each sentenced to 17 years in prison, nine years non‐parole.

Three-year-old Moko Rangitoheriri is dead. He was given a life sentence by David Haerewa and Tania Shailer. So, are manslaughter convictions and sentences of 17 years justice?

If this is what our justice system calls manslaughter, what is murder? And should plea bargaining in child abuse cases be thrown out the window?
