The Queen’s Birthday road toll has hit 11 this year, six higher than last year.

It is the highest number of deaths on the road over the Queen's Birthday weekend period in 27 years.

To talk about why this year’s numbers were so high, Paul Henry was joined on the show by National Road Policing Manager, Superintendent Steve Greally and Caroline Perry, director of Brake New Zealand.
