NEW RELEASE: SING STREET         

Sing Street is a 2016 Irish musical comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by John Carney. It stars Lucy Boynton, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Jack Reynor, Kelly Thornton, and Ferdia Walsh-Peelo.

A boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s escapes his strained family life by starting a band to impress the mysterious girl he likes.

PICK OF THE WEEK: ONCE (2007)

Once is a 2007 Irish musical romance film written and directed by John Carney. The film stars Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová as two struggling musicians in Dublin, Ireland.  

A vacuum repairman (Glen Hansard) moonlights as a street musician and hopes for his big break. One day a Czech immigrant (Markéta Irglová), who earns a living selling flowers, approaches him saying she's also an aspiring singer-songwriter.

The pair decide to collaborate, and the songs that they compose reflect the story of their blossoming love.
