Eight people have died on our roads this week, all in a 24-hour period.
This includes the five Tongan men killed on a dangerous stretch of State Highway 2 in Katikati in Bay of Plenty.
Transport Minister Simon Bridges is visiting the area to discuss road safety measures, and tragically has already organised the meeting before the fatal accident happened.
