Kermadec a sticking point for National, Māori Party

The Māori Party and National need each other, but the disagreement between the two over the Kermadec ocean sanctuary could see the coalition unravelling.

Maori Party co-leader Marama Fox says her party was ready to abandon its agreement with the National government, if the Government refused to move on plans to form the sanctuary.

Acting Prime Minister Bill English joined Paul Henry this morning to discuss this, and the petition being presented to the Green Party about Kiwis against seabed mining.
