Pasifika students need 'urgent attention' - report

An alarming new report about the health of Pasifika students in New Zealand needs our urgent attention

A study by Auckland University's Adolescent Health Research Group revealed almost half of Pacific youth attend low-to-mid decile schools.

Nearly a quarter say their parents worry about not having enough food.

More than 30 percent say someone at home sleeps in a room not meant for sleeping, like a garage.

Pacific students are also more likely to be overweight and have poorer mental health than New Zealand European students.

Lead author and senior advisor in Pacific Health at the University of Auckland, Jacinta Fa'alili-Fidow joined Paul Henry to talk about just how bad it is.
