At 22 Chloe Swarbrick was the youngest person ever to run for the Auckland mayoralty.

The marketing consultancy business owner came out of nowhere, but came in third at the end, ahead of all bar two of her older peers.

So how did she engage more than 25,000 to vote for her in an election where hardly anyone voted?
