Kiritapu Allan is one of Labour's new list MPs. The Paengaroa local showed Three's The Hui around her beloved East Coast electorate, her new workplace and introduces her new pēpi, Hiwaiterangi.
Strolling through Kawerau with Kiritapu, you get a sense that everyone knows her and she knows them. This former lawyer has a special affinity to Kawerau because she married in the town. Her wife Natalie Coates, who is also a lawyer, hails from Kawerau.
Its issues like housing and health and safety in forestry in her electorate that she's adamant on advocating for in Parliament, whether Labour is in opposition or not.
