'Not guilty by reason of insanity' - victims plead for law change

Every year people are found not guilty by reason of insanity for offending including homicides, violent attacks and sexual assaults.

But once an acquittal is entered survivors say they feel like justice has passed them by with no formal acknowledgement of the harm caused to them

Now they are demanding changes to the insanity verdict and better notification of when people acquitted on insanity grounds are released from hospital.
