Kiwi women win cycling pursuit bronze

The New Zealand women's team pursuit quartet have produced their best time of the track cycling World Cup in beating the United States by more than six seconds in the bronze medal race.

Rushlee Buchanan, Lauren Ellis, Jaime Nielsen and Georgia Williams clocked 4:23.011 on Saturday to finish third at the Avantidrome in Cambridge.

In the gold medal race, world champions Australia were pushed every inch of the way before pipping Canada by a mere .054sec.

Ashlee Ankudinoff, Georgia Baker, Amy Cure and Isabella King finished strongly to clock 4:18.213 in downing Cali World Cup gold medallists Canada.
