A 14-year-old skier in Cardrona has become the first Kiwi and the youngest person in the world to land a triple cork 1440.
Nico Porteous made the jump at the first practice of the Jossi Wells Invitational on Tuesday, where conditions were perfect for the trick - blue skies, zero wind and a 25-metre, purpose-build ramp.
Nico has wanted to land the trick for a couple of years now.
"It's been in the back of my mind for two and a half years now, after I wasn't able to put it down at the Jon Olsson Invitational," he says.
"I'm so stoked to land it at home at Cardrona."
The pint-sized Kiwi will be the youngest and smallest in the field at the Jossi Wells Invitational.
