Duco wild about Deontay

Just a couple of day after securing a heavyweight world title, Joseph Parker's camp are now actively - and aggressively - pursuing another.

His promoters Duco have called out WBC champion Deontay Wilder to get in the ring with Parker in a unification bout next year.

Today marked a birthday for Duco director David Higgins who while accepting the well-wishes of his colleagues, had a message for Deontay Wilder.

"It'd be a credit to both you Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker if you stepped up to unify lets go back to the good old days of boxing when the best fought the best," said Higgins.

Undefeated in 37 fights, Wilder doesn't mind a challenge.

"I ain't scared of nobody I'll come to your back yard for that my man," said the American.

And he has the ability to back up the talk.

"Is Deontay Wilder too much too soon? Maybe, maybe not," reckons Higgins.

"It's better to try and unify and lose trying, rather than not try at all."

Inactive since he injured himself in his last fight in July, Wilder's next opponent is unclear. But today indicated who he'd like to fight.

"I'd go straight with Brock Lesnar," he laughed.

He may've been joking, but Duco certainly aren't.

Their matchmaker reached out to Wilder's camp overnight and they'll soon find out whether he's serious about unifying the heavyweight titles.
