Video: Joseph Parker returns to Samoa to show fans his WBO belt

Recently crowed WBO champion Joseph Parker has arrived back in Samoa to show the prestigious belt around to his fans.

The heavyweight champ was mobbed by supporters, first at the airport and then as his convoy drove through the streets.

There will be an official parade for Parker on Wednesday held by the Samoan government.

"I love being here to see family and friends," says Parker.

"I am looking forward to seeing everybody at the parade on Wednesday and hopefully people can see the belt we brought back."

Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi contributed NZ$137,000 so Parker could have his title fight against Andy Ruiz in Auckland.

"I can feel the love everywhere I go. So I am looking forward to go and see everybody in town and go out to see the people," says Parker.

"I love this place. I have come here ever since I was a baby, so Samoa is my home."

Parker fought American Jason Bergman in Samoa back in January and after he beat Ruiz earlier in the month, he promised to bring the belt to Samoa to thank the fans for their support during his road to the title.
