Highlights: Bangladesh fight hard on opening morning of second Test against Blackcaps

Bangladesh has gone into lunch on the first day of the second Test against New Zealand at 128-2 with veteran Shakib Al Hasan continuing where he left off in Wellington with a fighting 39 after the visitors were sent into bat.

It was yet another green seamer for the Blackcaps and while they looked to get the better of the Tigers early on with Southee strangling replacement captain Tamim Iqbal down leg when Bangladesh were on just seven runs, the visitors steadied.

It was a profitable morning for Bangladesh's other opener Soumya Sarkar who cashed in on the Blackcaps full bowling, registering a hugely impressive 64 before the interval.

The hosts were guilty of shelving yet another moderate chance as Shakib and Sarkar wasted no time punishing the bowlers, both with a strike rate hovering around a run a ball.

The best of the bowlers is Trent Boult who removed Mahmudullah caught behind for 19
